About Us

brief History

Our story began with the bid to serve the undeserved and ensuring women are empowered to take responsibility for their health through Agricultural endeavours.

2014 – founded and registered with cac
2016 – partnered with ddi to implement the pilot on cassava value chain intervention utilizing gap
2016 – partnering with pind on cassava value chain intervention utilising msd (m4p) strategy
2018 – partnered with made on cassava, oil palm & agro inputs value chain intervention
2019 – partnered with noa in securing public declaration on the abandonment of FGM practice
2020 – engaged with lawyers alert on advocacy to decongest correctional centres to reduce covid-19
2020 – partnered with who in reducing covid-19 impact through conducting rcce
2022 – partnering with palladium on advocacy for increased agric budgetary allocation
2022 – partnered with karis & eleos foundation to empower women with non agric livelihood skills
CARA Development Foundation is a non-governmental (not-for-profit) organization with the vision of a healthy society free from poverty and food insecurity. We are driven by the mission to support local communities to achieve good health, reduce poverty, and attain food security for sustainable development.

We uphold integrity, professionalism, partnership, excellence and sustainability in our aim to improve the lives of the women and young persons in the communities through poverty reduction, stimulate the Agric value chain to ensure food security in our communities, and improve the lives of women through safe motherhood programs.

CARA has a strong human resource with vast knowledge, discipline, and expertise in Agriculture, Health, and IT, amongst others. CARA staff have been trained by its donors on strategic stakeholder engagements, initiating community actions for social change, analysis, monitoring and evaluation, and telling success stories.
